A Revenger Poster pin up that also grew out of a doodle. A2. © Warwick Fraser-Coombe 2015.

Another mushroom cloud painting that I did whilst playing with some new brushes I'd made on Photoshop.  Final image is about A1. Maybe two days work. No inks. No pencils. No reference. But lots of fun. © Warwick Fraser-Coombe 2015.

Doodle to finished image.

Same process as before. Pencils. Some textures thrown on.
Doesn't start to really rock until the inks are thrown on.
A splash of paint on Photoshop.
And voilĂ . I hope you enjoy.
The final finished image is a nice poster sized A2. © Warwick Fraser-Coombe 2015.

I thought I'd share some of my thumbnails to final piece stuff as I often get asked about processes (which is difficult for me as they are always changing and developing). Usually (but not always) I start off with a thumbnail scribble in a notebook. In this case I worked away sketching digitally until I got a very rough working layout. I also used SketchUp to scratch build the overlapping chain background to figure out the lighting. But I'll also build an image up on top of t...his, using whatever I think it needs, from comped, photosmashed backgrounds, for realism and speed, to using 3d models, and my own textures, whatever works. In this case, I kept it simple! On most occasions, for me, the work doesn't get interesting, or pretty until the inking stage, which I do by hand, and it only gets really fun when it comes to colouring on photoshop! All in all this was probably two full days work, and the final finished image is a nice poster sized A2. © Warwick Fraser-Coombe 2015.
